Chapter one- Pure, Love and Giving

" Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." ( 1 Timothy 4:12)

How can one define a pure heart? Many will say pure heart is when you don't have any ill feelings and thoughts or if there is nothing accusing you. Indeed I agree, a pure heart is when there is nothing that dirties you e.g. grudges, hatred, jealousy and all that is not good.

One day a friend of mine asked me a simple question " Ayanda , what does it take one to be pure in God?" The answer I gave was that when you deny your own will, and stay far from things that are against God's will; you are coming closer to God by seeking him with all your mind and heart. That is what makes you pure before Him.

When you ask God to forgive all your wrong doings, your purity in God appears. Purity and love go together. God so loved the world that He gave his only son Jesus. God is pure and it was out of love that He gave. I once heard a statement that said, love don't start in the eyes but starts in the heart. God felt in His heart that it was time for the world to be saved through Jesus Christ His son, through this, three (3) major things are quoted: pure, love and giving wholeheartedly.

There is a tale I once was told: there was a builder who was told to build 99 houses by his master, he did exactly what he was told. He built 99 houses and when the master came to him, he was so impressed at what the builder had done. He asked of him one more task, "I know you are tired but please build one last house but a bigger, more beautiful house than the others. The builder just built a house out of duty; it was not big, not beautiful and about to collapse. After he had built the house, the master came and said "The last house you have built is a gift from me to you" The builder was simultaneously shocked and sad because he knew that he had not given his best when building the house. The moral of this tale is that, giving your best at all times rewards you and you will never have regrets afterwards. These 3 most important factors always teach me how to take care of my ministry and my life with God.
